With Memorial Day approaching Greenway USA is particularly proud to announce this completion. A joint project between the United States Air Force and the 117th Air Refueling Wing based at Sumpter Smith Air National Guard Base in Birmingham, AL.
The Global Aircrew Strategic Network Terminal (GASNT) program is specifically designed to provide protected communication capabilities to missile, bomber and support aircraft crews; replacing Cold-War era systems.
In support of the GASNT program, Greenway USA was tasked with a scope of work that included the installation of a custom engineered 50’ tall aluminum stair tower and 15’ x 20’ steel platform tied to and on top of an existing parachute tower. In addition, Greenway USA constructed a 350 square foot extension of the existing building to function as an equipment room supporting flight operations. And to wrap up the project we installed various electrical and conduit upgrades to prep the location for incoming GASNT equipment.
