As we come to the end of Asian American Heritage Month, Greenway USA would like to take the time to celebrate one of our very own employees, Malory Nguyen.  Malory has been a crucial and contributing member to the Greenway USA family these past few months and someone who deserves recognition.  However, there is more than what meets the eye for this tennis loving and dragon boat racing individual.  Malory’s family emigrated from the city of Hue, Vietnam, as refugees in the late 20th century.  Tensions were high due to the war in Vietnam, which made emigrating that much harder for Malory’s family.  Malory was born during this long journey to the United States in a Malaysian refugee camp.

Soon after her birth, they landed in California, where they spent the next nine years of Malory’s life.  Since then, her family has relocated to Massachusetts.

Malory began her college career a few years later at Manhattan College, where she received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Civil Engineering and Construction Management.  Her studies and strong determination led her to STV Inc., where she excelled in her career in construction management for the next 12 years.  Through her time at STV, Malory received many accomplishments and recognition’s, including being declared one of the top 20 individuals in the construction management field under 40 years old by ENR magazine in 2016.

She became a much-needed asset to the Greenway USA firm this year as the New York Region Operations Manager.  Her hardworking parents truly are her motivation in getting her where she is today, says Malory.  Seeing her mother travel all the way from Vietnam to California with a family of six and no money to her name has always inspired Malory.  The fact that her mother was even able to open up her own small business, a nail salon, despite these other struggles, shows the determination and drive that Malory embodies today.  We are very thankful for Malory here at Greenway USA.  She is a phenomenal addition to the team and a great person.  We hope that in the years to come, she can encourage others just as her mother inspires her.

Thank you Malory!
